QSControl.net 3.1 routes control signals and status reporting data while keeping your multichannel audio in the digital domain all the way to the point-of-use, where it is handled and/or converted as needed by a QSC DXP Digital Expansion processor, BASIS™, or DCP Series processor.
By moving signals via CobraNet™ over standard Cat-5 cable and Ethernet hardware, a QSControl.net system potentially replaces hundreds of audio cables, helping you to vastly reduce installation, labor and materials costs. It also improves performance by shielding audio from the losses inherent in long cable runs. And QSControl.net enables a much more flexible approach to signal routing. BASIS distributed processing
QSC BASIS is a family of point-of-distribution processors for use with QSControl.net 3.1. BASIS combines amplifier and loudspeaker management, configurable DSP, and CobraNet digital audio transport in a compact 1RU device that’s an ideal behind-the-screen companion to DCA Series screen channel amps. The BASIS DataPort interfaces provide network control and monitoring of amplifier functions, and loudspeakers. All models operate with short, fixed processing latency to ensure consistent, predictable timing.
With four THX-approved cinema-optimized BASIS models to complement our DCP Series processors, QSC offers a broad range of QSControl.net solutions for cinema.
Venue Manager and QSCreator
Venue Manager provides a fast, user-friendly software interface for configuring networked devices into a complete system. Drop devices from your library into the work area, drag to connect signal flow between devices, and select individual devices to fill in parameter values. You can route audio from a DCP 200 or 300 to screen-channel amplifiers via a BASIS behind the screen, or send status information from any DCA Series amp to an onsite control room or remote network operations center. And you can access the network in real-time from multiple computers simultaneously for the ultimate in system monitoring and control.
Venue Manager also hosts QSCreator, a design tool for creation of custom BASIS and DCP Series control interfaces. QSCreator lets you craft your own easy-to-use layout from an extensive library of elements such as faders, knobs, buttons, meters, and indicators. And by exposing only essential controls, a custom interface design can boost operator efficiency and minimize opportunities for error or tampering.
NAC-100 Network Audio Controller
The NAC-100 is a wall-mounted hardware interface for control of devices on a QSControl.net network. Simple, cost-effective, and secure, the NAC-100 extends system operation to locations where control would be convenient but a networked PC would be impractical or prohibitive. Multiple NAC-100s, each programmed with an interface tailored to its specific location, may be used simultaneously to manage different aspects of your system.
With a compact, unobtrusive design, the NAC-100 blends well in virtually any setting, including lobbies, walkways, auditoriums, projection booths, and manager’s offices. Ideal for use with DCP Series and BASIS products, the NAC-100 adds a new dimension of versatility and control to QSControl.net systems.
